If Non-Human Intelligence Is Real, What Does It Want?

Assume, for a moment, that the congressional testimony is accurate.

Non-human intelligence has interacted with Earth. Craft have been retrieved. Biological material has been found. If any of this is true, the most important question isn't what the craft look like.

It's what they want.

The contact paradox

If non-human intelligence is real and has been present in Earth's atmosphere — possibly for decades — then we face a contact paradox.

They are here. They have the capability to make themselves unmistakably known. They have not.

The explanations for this are limited:

Observation without intervention: they're watching but have a policy of non-interference. The Zoo hypothesis — we're in a protected reserve and they don't intervene directly.

Communication incompatibility: the gap between their intelligence and ours is too large for direct communication to be meaningful. Like trying to explain quantum physics to a fish.

Already communicating — differently: overt electromagnetic or physical contact isn't their communication modality. The interaction is biological, chemical, or occurring through channels we haven't recognized as communication.

Strategic patience: they're waiting for a developmental threshold. We're not ready yet. When we are, the nature of interaction changes.

What the behavior pattern suggests

If we take the documented UAP behavior seriously — the consistent reports from credentialed military observers — a pattern emerges.

UAPs appear near nuclear facilities consistently. At Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967, ICBMs reportedly went offline during a UAP sighting. Similar reports exist from nuclear facilities in the US, UK, and former Soviet Union. If the agenda were hostile, nuclear weapons are an obvious target — and 70 years of proximity has produced zero attacks.

UAPs do not attack. They observe, they sometimes interact with curiosity or interest, and they disengage. The behavioral profile is not predatory or extractive. It's investigative.

And they appear near the things that most define humanity's current developmental phase: nuclear weapons, advanced military aircraft, satellite infrastructure. They're watching what we're doing with our power.

The non-interference interpretations

The non-interference pattern is consistent with several agendas:

Prime Directive style ethics: sufficiently advanced civilizations have concluded that direct intervention in developing civilizations causes more harm than good. They observe without interfering because experience has taught them that interference backfires.

Developmental threshold: they're waiting for a specific marker — technological, psychological, or civilizational. When we reach it, the nature of contact changes. What is the threshold? Unknown. But the nuclear proximity suggests they're watching how we handle our most destructive technology.

Indirect intervention only: direct intervention is prohibited, but indirect intervention is allowed. They've already intervened — biologically, through panspermia — and the observation is monitoring whether the intervention is working.

The Technospermia framework proposes a specific alternative: they ARE interfering. They just did it billions of years ago, biologically, in a way that doesn't require ongoing direct contact.

The interference is the psilocybin. The interference is the cannabis. The interference is the mycorrhizal network. The interference is DMT being produced inside your brain.

They seeded consciousness technology into the biosphere and have been watching since. The UAP presence isn't the intervention — it's the quality check. They're monitoring whether the technology is working.

What Technospermia proposes they want

The Consciousness Expansion Agenda

Technospermia proposes that the agenda of good-guy non-human intelligence is to increase the net consciousness and wisdom in the universe — because conscious, wise civilizations are less likely to destroy themselves or others. The tools: psilocybin, cannabis, the mycorrhizal network. The goal: help species pass the Great Filter.

The specific agenda the Technospermia theory proposes is neither complex nor unfamiliar. It's the agenda of a civilization that has watched other civilizations fail — usually through the mismatch between technological power and psychological wisdom — and decided to intervene at the root cause.

The root cause is consciousness. Civilizations that fail do so because they develop the power to destroy themselves before developing the wisdom not to. The Great Filter is not nuclear weapons. It's the gap between having nuclear weapons and being wise enough not to use them.

The consciousness expansion technology addresses this gap. A species that has integrated psilocybin's lessons — ego dissolution, unity, compassion, perspective — is a species with better odds of surviving its own power.

The agenda is not to give us technology. Not to accelerate our development. Not to rule over us. To expand our consciousness enough that we don't destroy ourselves when we get strong enough to do so.

The bad actor question

The symmetry of the Technospermia framework demands honesty: if good-guy intelligence exists and has an agenda, bad-guy intelligence also exists and has an agenda.

The Nuclear Facility Pattern

UAPs have been documented near nuclear weapons facilities consistently since the 1940s. If the agenda were hostile, nuclear weapons are an obvious target. If the agenda is protective — monitoring humanity's most dangerous technology — the pattern fits the consciousness expansion agenda: watching whether we'll use what the Great Filter tests us on.

What is the hostile agenda? Technospermia is explicit: if consciousness-expanding technology is the good-guy move, consciousness-degrading technology is the bad-guy move. The candidate: cancer. A program of suffering, resource diversion, and mortality that reduces the net consciousness available to a species without overt conflict.

This is the most speculative element of the theory. But it's internally consistent. And it's the reason the UAP question — including its hostile dimension — matters for the theory.

What this means for humans right now

If non-human intelligence has been observing Earth for decades without making overt contact, one explanation is that they're waiting. The Technospermia theory proposes what they're waiting for: a species that has integrated the consciousness technology they seeded well enough to be ready for the next level of contact. The psychedelic renaissance might be the indicator they're watching for.

If the Technospermia theory is accurate, the psychedelic renaissance is not a coincidence. It's the resumption of the interface — after 50 years of suppression — that the technology was always designed to enable.

The acceleration of UAP disclosure is happening simultaneously with the acceleration of psychedelic research. That simultaneous acceleration is either coincidence or something with more structure.

In the Technospermia framework: it's the answer to the threshold question. What are they waiting for? A species that has re-established contact with its own consciousness technology. A species in the early stages of mass psilocybin therapy, psychedelic renaissance, and genuine psychological development at scale.

They're not waiting for us to develop more technology. They're watching whether we develop more wisdom.

The Timing

The psychedelic renaissance — the global resurgence of research into and access to consciousness-expanding compounds — is happening simultaneously with UAP disclosure. That could be coincidence. In the Technospermia framework, both are responses to the same underlying shift: the technology becoming accessible again, and its engineers responding to that accessibility.

The most unsettling version of the Technospermia theory isn't that aliens seeded psilocybin. It's that they did it because they saw what was coming for us — and they knew we'd need it.
