John Mack did not conclude that alien abduction was literally real. His actual position was more careful — and more interesting.
He concluded that something genuine was happening to his subjects. That the experiences were not pathological fabrications. That the phenomenon did not map neatly onto established psychiatric categories. He explicitly resisted both the dismissive reading and the credulous one.
